Got Medicaid? Get renewed or check your coverage for 2023.
If you currently have IL Medicaid (Meridian, Molina, Aetna Better Health, and BCBS Community), now is the time to make sure you're still covered. IL Medicaid Renewal Period happens each month at the beginning of the month. You must turn your renewal in before the 15th of the month that your renewal is due.
Illinois is checking to see if you are still eligible for Medicaid. There are several options to check your coverage including online, over the phone and by mail, among others. SIHF Healthcare has Certified Application Counselors to help you through this process - FREE OF CHARGE.
Here’s what you need to do now:
Click "Manage My Case" at abe.illinois.gov to:
- Verify your mailing address under “contact us” if you already have an account setup or create a new account to update any information.
- Find your due date (also called redetermination date)
in your “benefit details”.
Call 1-800-843-6154 to check your redetermination date over the phone or to get renewed.
Watch your mail and complete your renewal right away. If you are no longer eligible for Medicaid, connect to coverage at work or through the official Affordable Care Act marketplace for Illinois, GetCoveredIllinois.gov.

When preparing to speak with a Certified Application Counselor, it is important that you remember to have available the following:
- Valid Photo I.D.
- Proof of Citizenship
- Social Security Numbers (for everyone who will be on the health insurance plan)
- Income Verification

Should you become ineligible for IL Medicaid after completing the renewal application, you will still be able to enroll in another Marketplace plan through the Special Enrollment Period or with your employer if offered.
