SIHF Healthcare in Arthur, Ill. Celebrates National Health Center Week with a School Supply Drive to Benefit Local Schools
SIHF Healthcare is celebrating National Health Center Week 2017 (NHCW), August 13-19, with public health screenings across southern Illinois and charity donation drives at its more than 30 health centers.
What began as a pilot project during President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty in 1965, today’s community health centers serve more than 23 million people nationwide, many of whom are uninsured or underinsured. As the second largest Federally Qualified Health Center network in Illinois, SIHF Healthcare operates more than 30 health centers in the region. SIHF Healthcare – Arthur serves the Arthur community, helping them lead their healthiest lifestyles. The health center is located at 525 N. Vine.
“My team and I are so proud to be a part of the close-knit community of Arthur, and are so grateful to have received such a warm welcome from the wonderful people who live and work here,” said Jennifer Hurt, health center manager of SIHF Healthcare in Arthur. “NHCW is a week to not only celebrate our efforts, but to continue our mission to offer quality, friendly care to everyone who walks through our doors.”
