SIHF Healthcare Reminds the Public of the Importance of Mental Health
SIHF Healthcare wants to remind the public of the importance of achieving and maintaining positive mental health. This comes as May is National Mental Health Month.
Symptoms of mental health obstacles can range from feeling sad more often than you feel happy, withdrawing from family, friends, and activities you typically enjoy, intense mood swings, and even losing sleep at night.
“Each of us has our own mental health to focus on and keep well. It’s our emotional, psychological and social well-being that affects how we feel, think, and act,” says Sharon Jameson, PMHNP-BC for SIHF Healthcare in Alton, Ill. “It’s absolutely normal to run into troubles with your mental health - we all do. But there are ways and resources available to help, including our behavioral health services at SIHF.”
Tips for anyone experiencing mental health troubles include taking a break when you need it, eat mood-boosting foods such as fruits, leafy greens, and nuts, exercise even if it’s brief, and make yourself a priority every now and then.
The behavioral health providers at SIHF Healthcare treat mental health conditions including ADHD, anger issues, anxiety and panic disorders, chemical dependency, depression, self-esteem issues, trauma and grief, women’s issues and more. Our medical professionals service over two dozen SIHF Healthcare locations, visit sihf.org to find one near you.
