2020 Health Insurance Open Enrollment
It’s that time of year again. It’s officially the 2020 federal marketplace health insurance open enrollment period. Having health insurance allows you to maintain good health by visiting the doctor when you get sick and for annual appointments. The health insurance open enrollment period is the time for you to ensure that you and your family are covered for the upcoming year.
What you need to know
Open enrollment is the period when consumers can enroll in a new plan or make changes to an existing health insurance plan. This year, the open enrollment period runs from Friday, November 1, through Sunday, December 15. The plan that you choose will begin on January 1, 2020. Once the open enrollment period ends, you will not be able to make changes or select a new insurance plan, unless under special circumstances.
