Men’s Health Awareness Month is the best time to take a step back and put your health first. SIHF Healthcare is using this time to bring awareness to men’s health and important screenings and health education.

  • The American Cancer Society estimates about 248,530 new cases of prostate cancer and about 34,130 deaths from prostate cancer in 2021.
  • About 1 in 8 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point during their life.
  • The American Cancer Society estimates about 9,470 new cases of testicular cancer diagnoses and about 440 deaths from testicular cancer in 2021.
  • Only 3 out of 5 men get annual physicals
  • Over 40% of men only go to the doctor when they think they have a serious medical condition

  1. African-American men are 30% more likely to die from heart disease
  2. African-American men are 60% more likely to die from stroke than are non-Hispanic white men
